Wow, Riz Khan is on Al-Jazeera? I remember him from when I lived in Europe and he was on BBC and CNN International. Tells you a little something about their leanings as well!

That's exactly it, there is very little difference between al Jazeera and BBC, their reporters all sound the same and have the same general pro Palestininian bias. But nobody would make a stink if Gore sold his network to the BBC. This is all driven by a general Islamophobia, which is the case of the country of Qatar, a loyal American client state, is based in nothig except bigotry.

Nothing but bigotry, OR due to the network's very anti-American, anti-Israel bias.
The liberal media have spent 12 years feeling sorry for Al Gore. The Man Who Should Have Won in 2000 has had megatons of positive publicity dumped on him, hailing him as the "Goracle." They cheered as leftists honored him with the Nobel Peace Prize and gave an Oscar to his filmed eco-sermon, "An Inconvenient Truth."

So when Gore sold his left-wing cable channel Current TV to Al-Jazeera for $500 million, where were they? Despite the fact that conservatives thought the deal sounded like a ridiculous April Fools' joke, the networks had nearly nothing to say. ABC skipped it...
