Salt Tyrants

There was a time when salt was treasured as a valuable asset. Personally, I think it still is - a valuable asset to food and the enjoyment thereof. Who gave the "health patrol" the right to infringe on my right to eat whatever food I prefer? - and don't give me the absolutely ridiculous argument about healthcare costs! I have worked and earned whatever benefits I now enjoy (at age 83). That is the ethic with which I was raised. It is a sad day in which Americans are no longer free to make personal choices, but must bow to morons who honestly believe that they know best!

What exactly is Ms Lopez' point? If she wants to write about Sarah Palin - and do it honestly, then writ it! Don't throw her in with the likes of an entertainer whose life was troubled and confused. There is no comparison -no matter how Lopez tries to color it. Sadly, we have come to the day when anyone with the title of "editor" can be published, read and accepted as truth and accuracy.
Sarah Palin called it as she read it "between the muddled lines!" Dr. Krauthammer, this time you are being too nice - I say call the program by its intent - Even a layperson like myself can see it.

Who Is Wesley Mouch?

Can't wait for your debut Mr. Stossel. Ayn Rand was a prophet - although she probably did not acknowledge that fact. Re-reading Atlas this past summer, I could have been reading about current events. Who is Wesley Mouch? Equal parts of Pelosi, Reid and Obama with a good chunk of Barney Frank tossed in. Senators Schuber and Dodd deserve a mention - but let's be even-handed, McConnell, McCain and Graham have loose-skinned necks from bobbing "yes."
Great first show choice!

Meghan McCain

Call it what it is - a liberal! By any other standards all arrows point to Ms McCain being an ordinary liberal with mores far removed from her parents. She is enjoying being a "media darling" a position she could never have achieved had she not been the daughter of Sen. McCain. She is NOT a new - old - whatever - voice of the Republican Party. She is clueless.
Those who scoff and ridicule the tea party protestors are ignorant of history. Always, in the past, it is at the lower levels of society where change begins - the movement becomes a real "ground-swell" - a tsunami wave - and change eventually takes place. This time it will be change for a true return to the fundamentals upon which this country was founded. Obama may be a brilliant scholar, but he knows diddly-squat (yes that's a real American term) about what America is all about. Baseball, apple pie and mom conjure up visions of a bygone era when we valued the individual. I do not forget the ignorance and bigotry that was prevalent for so long - but based on the principles of the constitution, we have struggled to bring equality to all...
