Lessons for Holocaust Day

"Secular education has proved morally worthless" This is a reflection of the deadly sin of hubris, something that most of the intellectuals, PhDs, etc, possess in abundance. They think they're smarter than everyone else, so they have a right to decide for others what their lives should be, even if it means others - but certainly not themselves - should die. They are sick.

"In Europe, it was first succeeded by fascism, communism and Nazism, and then by a soulless and morally confused secularism. What will succeed it in America?" Soulless and morally confused socialism - aka progressivism or modern liberalism.

'Proportional' Response

"What announcing the doctrine of "proportional" response does is lower the price of aggression. Why would we want to do that?" The wizards of smart aren't announcing this to the North Koreans (or other enemies), they are announcing it to their peacenik friends, in hopes of comforting them that these wizards are not blood thirsty war mongers, as they have labeled their predecessors. They prefer to gamble with the lives of the masses, so long as they remain in good graces with their friends and supporters. They are sick.
"The liberal believes if we...give up all knowledge of right and wrong, we can return to paradise." Actually, the liberal believes we should turn over all notion of right or wrong to him. Similarly, liberals/Progressives/whatever do believe in a standard of right and wrong: they believe they are right and anyone who opposes is wrong. What they don't believe in is an objective standard of right and wrong.

Middle East 'Democracy'

"But you do not get a free country just because everybody wants freedom-- for themselves. You can have a free country only when people are willing to let other people have freedom." Sadly, this simple insight is lost on most today.
"Even liberals, who tend to favor “marriage equality,” have a responsibility to respect the will of those who disagree.' I'm a big fan, Mark, but this remark smacks of a complete disconnect from reality. Liberals don't respect the will of anyone other than liberals, with the possible exception of radical Muslims...

Another Round Goes to Bernanke

Gee, what could possibly go wrong with firing up the printing presses as a fiscal policy? Bernanke hasn't been right about anything. The fact that the whole system hasn't imploded yet proves nothing.

Well said.
It's only dangerous for others, not for himself or his friends/supporters. Too many in DC share that sickness.
If you can't tell how unhealthy Chunky Monkey is just by looking at it, you don't deserve to know the answer. And that doesn't even address the notion of choice. Plenty of us eat healthy and work out enough to enjoy some Chunky Monkey every now and then without some bozo beating us over the head with how unhealthy it is. And invariably that bozo eats it herself on occasion. And there's nothing wrong with that, as long as she isn't preventing others from having that same choice.
Nice point, I am going to save that remark.
