Would someone please explain to me how the ijit in charge can get away with not having a budget for four years. If it's the law then why isn't he being brought to task? Why is everyone dumping on Mitt Romney just because he lost? He would have been a far better President than what we have. As far as Cokie's uterus is concerned, i would think it would have rotted away by now. Grover Norquist is a hero. Thanks John

The law requires the President (OMB) to submit a budget to Congress at the end of Feb every year. Obama has done that. What you probably are thinking of, is that a change in the budget process in the 70s required Congress to pass a "budget resolution" after receiving the President's budget. The amounts requested in the President's budget are then supposed to be "reconciled" against the Congress budget resolution. Of course while Congress can pass a law requiring future Congresses to do certain things (like pass a budget resolution) there is no way to enforce it.

Yes, the guy who has been warning all of us about the untenable nature of the federal tax-and-spend system, the guy who came up with the novel idea that the Republican Party should actually stand for something- and be held accountable for campaign promises- is in trouble now.

Prior to the election, the reason why politicians like Barack Obama and Lindsey Graham trimmed their sails to the political winds in the first place and extended the Bush era tax cuts was because a guy like Grover...
