You have to both know that the whole abusive parent fear is a red herring. Abusive parents will push the kid to get an abortion anyway, and usually as serreptitiously as possible. Requiring adult notification only increases the odds that a non-abusive parent will get involved. The abusive parent is already involved. Getting these issues into the light increases the probability that the abuse will be addressed, and not just the pregnancy. The real cop-out is the lib position on this protects abuse and only gets the abortion, and then has the gall to claim to be looking out for the kid. Most teens getting an abortion feel pushed and forced into a decision by boyfriends and boyfriend's parents. Encouraging those kids to get other imput...
