Why are conservatives unable, or unwilling, to understand why Obama and his allies do not fear Muslim extremists as much as we fear Christian extremists or Jewish extremists? Muslim extremists are ignorant dupes who believe in an imaginary myth about a creator, but Muslims are basically caring, apolitical people who want to promote things like income equality and just want to live their lives and keep imperialist countries off their land. Christian and Jewish fundamentalists, on the other hand, are ignorant dupes who believe in an imaginary myth about a creator, but Christian fundamentalists and Orthodox Jews are politically aligned with the conservative agenda. That alignment makes Christians and Jews a far greater threat than Muslim extremists - at least to those of us who love this country and want to end America's imperialist and capitalist oppression of the world.

"Is Liberalism Exhausted?" Hey, liberalism isn't exhausted, it died a long time ago with LBJ, McGovern, and with Daniel Patrick Moynihan (all three of whom were ok on social policy but were still hyper-patriot warmongers). Obama is our model for the future. As a country, we are moving left of the old liberalism that has breathed its last breath. And our country's politics will continue moving left as long as the GOP and conservatives keep trying to mix God with politics. Since we don't believe in God, we don't have to deal with that kind of confusing dichotomy that has held others back for centuries.
GREAT News! Also, we need to keep pounding the point home that these ISIS commanders have nothing to do with the Muslim religion nor with Islam.
Right, again, Enrique! Our President is properly committed to destroying ISIL while carefully maintaining his commitment to not mislabeling them as Muslim or Islamic.
I totally agree, Enrique (Qué pasa, BTW), our president is so much smarter than his opponents. They can't even keep up. The President continues to wage war on our enemies abroad, while having the good sense to not label them with the pejoratives, "Islamic," or, "terrorists." Our great President is winning the war overseas and is wiping the floor at home with our ideological enemies --- the fringe on the far right as exemplified by Prager.
Right on, Rod! And to the headline of the column, "Obama Criticism Should be Banned," what conservatives call, "criticism," we call a lack of civility in political discourse. And, yes, when political discourse is not civil (especially discourse directed at the President), the party engaging in such discourse should be excoriated, diminished, and banned.
Sorry, Kirk, but Doug Indeep has it right. It will be a sad day for the world when Obama is no longer President.
I'm amazed conservatives are unable (more likely, unwilling) to figure out why Obama and his allies do not fear Muslim extremism as much as we fear Christian extremism or Jewish extremism. Muslim extremists are ignorant dupes who believe in an imaginary myth about a creator, but Muslims are basically caring, apolitical people who want to promote things like income equality and want to keep imperialist countries off their land. Christian and Jewish fundamentalists, on the other hand, are ignorant dupes who believe in an imaginary myth about a creator, but Christian fundamentalists promote a conservative political agenda that makes them a far greater threat to those of us who want to end America's imperialist and capitalist oppression of the world.
No counter-argument needed - you'll first have to present a cogent argument that refutes what I initially posted.
Right on, Paolo3! Obama's only failure is the fact that he has been so involved in trying to right the historical wrongs of this country that he has left foreign policy in the hands of the former Clinton Administration team. Nice to meet a kindred spirit here in the TH wilderness. Well said, Paolo!
