The fact is that every Dollar government spends there must be a Dollar in taxes. When you add the interest on the money barrowed by government and government’s waste, fraud and abuse there’s no telling the true cost to taxpayers. Anyone that thinks wealth doesn’t trickle down and taxes don’t trickle down is emotional not logical. There was a revolution because of taxation without representation, I’m glad I’ll be gone when the next generation is handed the bill. It’s going to be ugly.

One interesting point is that the public overwhelmingly opposed Zerobamacare but it was rammed through anyway. Now that the claim, which I question, that the public overwhelmingly supports more gun regulation and it didn’t pass is a travesty. If it’s true that public opinion didn’t count in both cases, why is it that Zerobama is upset because only in one case public opinion didn’t control the outcome?

Eleven million has been the number for so long it’s laughable. Maybe that’s a valid number if you are talking about Kalifornistan only. Americans claim that the law, not men make the rules we live by, if that were true there would be no illegal alien problem. Because men, and not the law, are in control the problem we can’t tell the difference between the problem and the solution. If a foreign national enters the U.S. illegally there is ONLY one way to define their status, i.e., ILLEGAL ALIEN. Any other definition is a distortion of the facts.

Robert, I had the same experience with the VA. Like you, I don’t remember the oath mentioning anything about my financial condition. They operate as the “Veterans Administration” but serve only veterans that have been means tested. In typical government fiasco fashion, if you worked hard, paid your taxes and save a few dollars you loose your veteran’s benefits. I suggested to them they change their name to the “Needy Veterans Administration.” The only thing government does with any degree of efficiency is collect taxes. Not to worry, the taxes we pay on the income from investments will eventually reduce our assets to the point that we qualify for VA benefits.

If you factor in the number if legislators and the number of issues it’s not surprising that the real problem is not what we see it’s what is below the water line. The idiocies displayed by politicians debating one of the few subjects I understand make me doubt anything said about the remaining subjects. It’s a rare occasion to hear one of the say they don’t have all of the answers, i.e., they know everything. 99% of them are egotistical nitwits that give the other 1% a bad name.
