There is no rational argument FOR gay marriage. Gays CANNOT naturally produce offspring. If they want to have a contract of commitment they can use Civil Unions. Civil Unions can be crafted to provide every right and privilege that normal married couples enjoy without desecrating the sacred or popular definition of the word "marriage." Anyone who rejects this politically and legally equal alternative, openly admits that they aren't interested in equality, but rather are seeking to rub the world's noses in their hideous sexual deviance. Kind of like the kid who was once bullied resorting to bullying others to get pay back. Irrational, immoral, evil. It's just that simple.

The unvarnished laws of politics dictates that politicians only champion an "oppressed" minority when it provides them some leverage to do something they could not get support for under any other circumstances. In the case of "gay marriage;" -- an issue that will ultimately provide "equality" for some infinitessimally small microcosm of the already minute gay community -- the political advantage is provides out would-be masters is a wedge issue to allow them to undermine (read infringe upon) the 1st Amendment right to free religious expression and practice. When the state has the power to tell hundreds of millions of Americans that the word "marriage" no includes sexual deviants, that is a whole lotta new power.
