I see Obama's class and generational warfare is working just fine. Explain to me why after I pay into social security for 40 years I shouldn't get anything because _you _think _I_ don't NEED it. You've been happy cashing the checks all those years but now you complain about paying back. BTW I'm not part of the problem.

The math doesn't work. You will collect more than you paid in. No one is saying you shouldn't be compensated. The compensation should stop when the amount you contributed is used up.
What some, myself included, are saying is that we need to phase SS out. SS taxes are stealing. People should have a choice in keeping the money they earn.
In the same respect you have to acknowledge that SS is a faulty system. Are you okay with stealing from your kids and grandkids?

One thing nearly everybody agrees upon is that the "sequester" is a silly sideshow to the real challenge facing America: unsustainable spending on entitlements. Ironies abound. Democrats, with large support from young people, tend to believe that we must build on the legacy bequeathed to us by the New Deal and the Great Society. Republicans, who marshaled considerable support from older voters in their so-far losing battle against Obamacare, argue that we need to start fresh.
