A Real State of the Union

A BIG problem with renewable energy is we can't count on it. I want lights and heat / cooling available any time but the wind blows when it blows and clouds cover solar cells which BTW do not produce anywhere NEAR what I sometimes need. The solar cells need to be kept clean to stay efficient. That water over Niagara or Hoover dam is much more reliable. As far a listening to POTUS, Levin is right - it's torture. I can't take it.

I just want it over with - it is like the day before surgery - you know the next day is going to excruciating.

There is no way I would lift a finger, or spend a dime in general attempts to help my fellow citizens. So long as the majority hold to the current popular PC BS, they are not worth aiding or defending. My time and treasure will be spent on protecting my own during the oncoming period of deterioration in liberty and quality of life. Maybe misery will educate the population, maybe not. It hasn't seemed to have done much good in Greece, Spain, or France, which have all doubled down on the idiocy which is crushing them.

Our course, and the global course, are unsustainable. I hope the denouement happens soon. I want to see it.

I can't listen either, glenn183. I just get angry, not so much at hearing his bald-faced lies, his artful connection of positively loaded words that when analyzed mean nothing, or anything a kool aid drinker wants to make them mean. My real anger is at the many fools, a voting majority, who believe him. What is the result of all the glorious rhetoric we heard in the summer of 2008, the beautiful dazzling words that got him elected? Lies. All lies and broken promises. The man is king of the charlatans. And Hillary of Behghazi is the most popular pol in the US of A. Good Grief.
We've heard another State of the Union speech, and my president said grand things like:

"Think about ... a future where we're in control of our own energy ... I will not cede the wind or solar or battery industry to China ... I will not back down from protecting our kids from mercury poisoning ..."

Actually, he said that in 2012. I write before this year's speech, but he says basically the same thing every year: With more spending, government can fix everything.

But I have this dream -- one where my president walks to the podium, and he instead...
