Why Larry King Will Never Be President

I too have questions, Carol. But he may have a rather large backbone if he's not seperating himself from that debacle. His pride may actually be his downfall.

They did - it appears that it was pre-dominantly Dems who voted for him.
Well said, Arby. Sometimes we just need to tone down OUR rhetoric as we (may) get caught up in the rancor. But I have noticed over the last 18 months or so that the comments have gotten out of hand. Conservative insight should be more thoughtful (generally can be seen by the coumnists) and insightful and not blinded by the slurs and inappropriate comments. Still, all and all, there are still a good number of people posting here. It's not a reflection on everyone, but as we know, it will be used against ALL of us.

Playing with Fire?

Lon and Co-Op - good points. But I don't necessarily agree. Like Schumer, you take it to the extreme. It's always like the politicians to act as if the end of the world is here when spending cuts are introduced - we have to let felons out of prisons, close Police precincts, fire too many teachers. Really? Isn't there way too much bureaucracy that can be trimmed before the Draconian measures always offered up by the (predominantly) left? Yes we increased the debt limit multiple times under President Bush but that didn't make it right. And there were always calls from both sides of the aisle to not raise it - just not nearly as loud as it is now. Also, the current administration has spent more and faster than any previous administration...
Kinda sucks when the tables are turned, huh, Robert? Truth is. I hear criticism from both sides and with for all sorts of reasons. Or perhaps your previous arguments are right and we shouldn't be anywhere. Truth is, I don't think that this was an easy decision but I don't agree with us being there. The President and his admnistration haven't been clear and the powder keg that is the middle east would mean that we need to be everywhere. If the President is right and we needed to act why not go to Congress like the previous administration? Why so long? UN approval? And why don't we yet know who the rebels are? Just questions, Robert. I don't expect anyone to answer them because I'm not sure if anybody really knows.

Barack Obama: American Exceptionalist

GitmoGreg Wrote: Mar 30, 2011 10:42 AM
Exceptionalism does include wateboarding, yes, George. As opposed to a real form of torture. As for the genocide of Native Americans, tell me, what nation doen't have blood on their hands? Particularly at it's formation? I'm just asking?
Bob -- what do YOU propose? I understnd what you think the conservatives will provide but what do you think Chris should do? Chris, I pray for your recovery and that you find a way out of this.
Your righ, Clov, but IT IS Joe Biden we're talking about. Now you may say that Joe speaks better than W but you have to admit, he offers so much more comedy.
Why the attacks, Robert? I agree with C.W. - the Eastern sea board is probably the best fit for this tpe of service but not for the entire, vast country. One of the things that made this country great isn't mass transit but what was the driving force in the economy for years - the automobile. ANd your barking up the wrong tree with "Republicans... make everything better" comment on this site. We want conservatives, not Republicans.

Continuing Stubborn Ignorance

I agree with you, Kenny but something that I take from Mr. Williams' article is giving too much credit to the President - positive or not - and that it does provide cover to Congress in bad times (currently) and takes it away from them in good times (Clinton gets all the credit despite the Republican congress). Ultimately the President gets most of the attention (sometimes deservedly so) providing cover for an equal branch of government that probably has wreaked more havoc on our financial situaton than any President ever has. I also feel for the masses (ultimately ignorant of how our government truly works) they only view the President as the sole author of spending and taxing. But I certainly see your point and agree that leadership...
