That's quite right; Republican is what one registers as.
Conservative is sometimes deceptive as well. How do you even know you're a conservative? Don't start the Founding Fathers stuff; the Constitution stuff; most guys on the street can't understand either of them. We're not always conservative; just as we aren't always Christian. Nothing is that regular.
He's right. Nothing and no one is 100% anything. Get ten Christians together and they will agree about very little, even what defines the term.

I often ask; "What is truly Christian?"
A Christian has no worldly advantage. Many pay lip service while going worldly. To qualify as a true Christian you must hear the Gospel and live it. And accept the obligations it gives us. Are you a Christian or; a faithful Christian?
And
What katepatate would have us understand is; If we're Christians we'll always be saints. Well, THEN, we have a cross to carry, to begin with.
I've found that even among Catholics, who know many real saints; carrying our cross is too rough to do.
