But the law, in and of itself, is not the solution. Consider all the judgments of God inflicted upon the Jews in the Bible. he solution is found in the New Covenant and not the Old. Read Jeremiah 31:31-34 for a prophecy concerning the need for and superiority of that New Covenant.
You are correct. And there is no political or electoral solution to the problem. Either the Constitution is trash or our politicians are wicked. I belive the politicians are wicked, and they have been placed in office by a wicked electorate. Remember that there was a time in the recent past when the Republicans controlled the Whitehouse, the Senate and the Congress. It did us little good. There is no political solution. The solution is spiritual. I challenge anyone to come up with a better solution.

The Constitution is of little value if our politicians are fundamentally wicked. And before anyone goes off on me, how else can you explain what is happening? Is the Constitution trash, or are our poloticians wicked? Gruber's statement that the voters are stupid is not correct. They are wicked. They vote for the people who they think will give them the most goodies. A spiritual awakening is our only solution; there is no other hope.
I doubt that the New Congress is going to do anythng about this, because the New Congess has the old leadership.

I have a question regarding two passages from the United States Constitution: Article 1, Section 8, Clause 4 gives Congress the power to "establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization." Article 1, Section 9, Clause 7 says: "No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law." The question is this: do these words mean anything anymore? I would like to ask this Republican congress that question. And maybe the Supreme Court also. Am I being too strict a constructionist to ask this question?
I had been under he impression that the law was supposed to hold illegal aliens acountable.
Republicans are going to respond by removing Jeff Sessions from his position on the budget committe and replacing him with someone who will not make any waves.
I think you confuse pessimism with reality.
It is sid that elections have consequences. But with the current Republican leadership will the recent Republican landslide really make any difference?
