We have good conservative leaders, they're just not running for president. And now that McConnell has admitted that he thinks it would be "too hard" to repeal Obamacare (he is, after all, just another big-government" republican), I think he should be replaced by someone like DeMint, Coburn, etc. As DeMint said in his latest book (I'm paraphrasing), compromise with the democrats always means more government spending, and America can no longer afford such compromise. This is the type leadership we need in the senate and the house - then maybe they could drag Romney along.
The annual Independence Day party that I host at my home was particularly alive with conversation this year. Conversation probably not too different from what was taking place in a lot of backyards around the country.
