I thought the subject here was gun control, but I'll answer Pungis' question anyway. In 1982 Chile privatized their social security over a two year period. Those already retired or approaching retirement were paid out of the general fund. Now, 30 years later, people are able to retire at full pay, not some meager survival on canned dog food. This is the difference between a government that was concerned about their citizens' well-being vs. one that is always scheming for ways to steal from us. Just think, if we could retire at full pay, we could continue buying a new car every few years, and we could help pay for our grand kids' college instead of seeing them go deep into debt. And the economy overall would be much better off.

Why do liberal politicians and the biased liberal mainstream media (meaning pretty much all media in America but FNC) always come to the wrong conclusion, and usually come up with the wrong solution, in response to every crisis? As an example, we don’t have a “fiscal cliff” crisis because of a tax problem in America. What we have is a spending problem- Obama is the biggest spender of any politician in world history.
