Obama Re-elected -- 9-Year-Old Black Kid Can Breathe Easy

Perhaps they don't want those things. Schools mean hard work. Jobs also mean hard work. In African society, people do just enough work to avoid hunger. For Africans living in the West, that would mean ... no work at all. That is not to say, of course, that all African Americans are lazy. That would be an absurd exaggeration. In several centuries of life among Americans, many of them will have absorbed aspects of Western culture. However we should not expect cultural osmosis to benefit all of them, nor even most of them. As slaves, they had no reason to work hard. They can hardly be held responsible for that. It brings out the worst in people.
