I recall seeing an interview with Obama where the interviewer brought up the issue that higher taxes tend to decrease revenues. Obama's response was that lower revenues doesn't matter, the higher taxes are more fair. I believe Obama's idea of fairness is a 100% tax on everyone, rich or poor. He is only starting with progressing towards that end with the rich.

In essence, Obama is willing to have LESS revenue (and therefore be able to accomplish LESS in the way of public programs) in order to be what he calls "FAIR" - i.e., taxing richer people more. It obviously has nothing at all to do with trying to provide programs for those who need it; it has everything to do with punishing producers and with stoking class envy.

I’ve put together a video series on the need for entitlement reform and another one on the economics of government spending.

I think that my videos are straightforward and easy to understand, but I’m always open to the possibility that I’m too wonky. After all, normal people may not have the time or interest to endure 20 minutes of Dan Mitchell (perish the thought!).

So perhaps this short cartoon video from the folks at the American Enterprise Institute is a better approach. Sort of Dr. Seuss goes to Greece.
