Take a look at the racial voting patterns of 2008 and 2012. The African-American vote was near unanimous for Obama. The Hispanic vote was also extremely high for Obama. This is what won it for Obama in both elections. Obama lost the White vote in both years, particularly 2012. Few analysts seem to have the courage to note these things. I really believe the minority vote wouldn't so heavily one sided if Obama were White.
