I regularly attend gun shows in my city, typically once or twice a month. I have NEVER seen any private seller rent a table. Private sellers here simply walk around the show with the gun they want to sell over their shoulder or on their hip, usually with a sign advertising it, and ask anyone who looks interested, if in fact, they'd like to buy what the person is trying to sell. Given that the ATF considers anyone selling more than 5 guns a year to be a "Dealer," it hardly seems reasonable to buy a table for these private sellers. There are usually about 10-20 such folks out of about 3 thousand visitors in a weekend.

A few weeks back we wrote a column about the issues being debated regarding potentially restricting the rights of gun owners established by the second amendment. The column was generally well received, but there was one point of contention that remains the center of debate regarding gun owners’ rights -- especially with the flaming out of Senator Feinstein’s bill on what she refers to as “assault weapons.” We need to correct this point and we discuss the issue in greater depth.
