John,
Congrats on moving to FOX. I believe that when you present a balanced approach to your reporting both "sides" are going to attack you. I have a call in radio show here locally that works well for helping people dealing with car problems and car sales. I have found speaking to the folks in simple terms and "validating" thier feelings helps me connect with them. The majority of folks don't fully understand what is being said and when you add "big" words and speak quickly they miss alot of the news. You may need a "bubba" segment to simplify the information and in a way tell people what they should feel about the topic.
