i wonder why Obozo wants to force universal background checks on law abiding American gun owners, while he's passing out weapons to the drug cartels in Mexico, doesn't make sense.

Politics frequently doesn't make sense. Especially when politicians and bureaucrats constantly mislead us or lie to us. Given the stated reason for the checks, his solution is unreasonable.

It does if the government is trying to compile a total list of gun owners Gary. There are enough out there who only buy from private parties that BHO & the guys at BATFE don't know who owns & who doesn't. It's the same reason for banning online ammo sales & trying to get background checks for ammo
