Charity is not about fighting poverty, its about feeling good about helping the poor. Those we call "the poor" are human beings like everyone else, with dignity and intelligence, who rather earn their own meal than have it handed down by condescending people who want to feel good by helping out those they feel are below them. I agree with Carlos Slim. The way to fight poverty is not with charity, is with investment and employment.
