From what I have read, the departments under DHS are mostly buying up .40 mil. which is only good in handguns, some AR variants, and I believe a few compact mini sub machine guns. Its only good for close up work which means they anticipate having to get up close and personal. With the amounts of ammo they are buying, it appears that they are planning to get up close and personal with an awful lot of people.
