And there's the rub. Why should we have to sign up for 2 years? We don't have to do that with land-lines. The ideal system would be a la carte; a menu system where you choose to buy a phone from the carrier...or not. Choose a two year plan....or just monthly billing. And so forth.

I suppose that a similar scenario would be having to buy my land-line hardware from my land-line carrier; all with a two year, ridiculously expensive plan to boot. Or, I had to buy my computer from my internet carrier. Or my car from the government because government builds to roads (and I couldn't then legally use the car on my private roads on my farm). Thanks to the author for replying to my uneducated reply below. I did a brief (very brief) read-up on the issue and must state the the author is correct in opposing this governmental overreach. This appears to be true "crony" capitalism at work where the carriers business model is being supported by governmental regulation. Again I must state: TANSTAAFL. You pay for the hardware during the two year contract. There was a day when government protected us from trusts and monopoly.

Their statements regarding gun control laws are true. Gun control laws were originally written to control freed slaves. Gun control laws are now being forged to control ALL OF US.
