EASY WAY OUT? ARE YOU STUPID? The elderly have more clout than any other group in America. Not too many are criticizing these moochers, are they? Why should the taxpayers have to subsidize someone else's mama and papa? In the pre WWII years, their families took care of them. Many of them worked and didn't sit down on their rears at 65 with their palms sticking out. My father worked until he died at 80. He didn't need to. He WANTED to! His father, my grandfather, worked til he was 94. Guess none of today's lazy, greedy pigs can do that, can they?

Why do some of you cherry pick your info? Stupid. The elderly use up everything they contributed to social security within 5 years. After that, they are sponging mightily off of the working people's backs. If you weren't so stupid, you would have read that. Plus, you are obviously some old f art who is collecting from the system and defending your own entitlements. You pick on something cheesey like food stamps, and yet suck huge money out of the economy with your social security and your numerous health issues that suck the life out of medicare and the economy.

I saw him in person years ago. He was walking down the street in Westport, CT. He's an absolute runt, barely 5 feet tall. I also remember being at an employment agency in CT that found assistants for stars. Redford was one of the clients. He was such a miserable btard that everyone would quit on him. His wife would call the agency and apologize for his boorish behavior. Then she would ask the agency to send another assistant to their home and "things will be different". Of course, nothing changed.

The elderly with their social security and medicare are crushing the economy, not some penny ante food stampers. Its easy to point the blame at the food stampers because they are unorganized and have no political clout. The elderly have their taxpayer subsidized senior centers and the AARP to inflame and motivate them to vote. I read that the 1st person to collect social security was some woman. She contributed $10 to the system and received over $10,000 back in social security payments. A nice racket, huh?

You can get a card with a job. So, this is a stupid teacher talking to an equally stupid child. Almost everybody in Vermont qualifies for food stamps. If you pay rent or a mortgage, that amount gets deducted from your earnings. The miles it takes to get to work gets deducted at 52 cents a mile. Savings or property are not taken into consideration at all. Hence, you could have 10 million dollars in stocks and bonds, pay a mortgage on a million dollar house in Vermont and qualify for food stamps.

You don't make sense, old man. A leech is a leech. The elderly like yourself are a far bigger drag on society than are the welfare crowd. Food stampers are a mere snip. You are a much, much bigger leech with your social security and medicare than anybody on food stamps. You are like Al Gore. A hypocrite.
