To be a NATURAL born citizen you must have 2 parents that are both citizens of the country. His mother was a US citizen, however his father was not. The framers of the Constitution made the distinction for this office, as they wanted our President to have no other loyalties. Obama was one of the Senators while running against McCain that put forward a resolution in the Senate that stated even though McCain was born in Panama, he had 2 parents that were citizens of the US and was born during his father's military service.
