Hey Mr. Mall Manager, you may want to do a little reading, specifically Mark 8:38 – “Whoever is shamed of me and my words in this faithless and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be shamed of when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
Good point; this group does seem to have a history of trying to make statements. But that doesn’t seem to be the case here. This was not a public event; there was no one to make a statement to. And by the description in the article, it was a small, inward-facing circle of women praying very quietly. That doesn’t seem the most effective way to draw attention, except from uptight, PC mall managers.
ww10, you obviously don’t understand what Christianity is. It’s not like picking a team to be on. Christianity is a belief in Jesus Christ that calls us to a certain way of living. While I agree that the “Holy Ghost Shoutin’ Prayer” is largely inappropriate, giving thanks to God before a meal is appropriate and inoffensive.
Unbelievable. They name a movie about killing what is obviously a child “Obvious Child”.
Nope, most are just horribly ill-informed and misguided. I think even many abortionists (the Gosnells of the world excluded) believe that they are helping women. I have to believe that most women contemplating an abortion don’t want to kill children; they just don’t recognize the unborn for what they are – their children. Branding them all as evil at best won’t change many minds, and at worst will drive those still on the fence away by making the Pro-Life side sound like a bunch of whack-job religious zealots.
“I need to be reminded that on Saturday I will wake up pregnant and on Sunday I will not …” Why does Ms. Kutner need so much reminding? Is it because somewhere deep down & suppressed, she knows what she is doing is wrong? And “I cried because I was overwhelmed and confused, although I wasn’t at all confused about my decision.” What else was there to cry about? I suspect someday Ms. Kutner will come to terms with what she’s done, and the terrible mistake she’s made.
eblake, I share your sentiment that Ms. Kutner sounds wholly unfit to be a mother, but I can’t be “relieved” at the death of a child.
Brilliant. By that ridiculous “logic”, you wouldn’t have supported women or minorities before they could vote either. And does that mean you support abortion up to voting age?
Yup; crack.
We are ALL created in the image & likeness of God, and so are all equal in God’s eyes. As is written in the Declaration of Independence, we are all endowed by our Creator “with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” That some women believe that their imagined Right to Convenience supersedes the unborns’ Right to Life is misguided and tragic. Unfortunately, Derfel, your “position” is little better; people are equal, ideas are not.
That would be awesome! Which is exactly why those groups will never let her speak there.
