Republican posturing to try and not get blamed for whatever happens is folly. If they haven't even learned this simple fact yet, they don't deserve another moment's respect. How about they just do the right thing for the Country, instead of worrying about politics?

we should fall of that damn cliff so everyone once again will have skin skin the game. everyone should contribute, everyone, no exceptions. and the automatic spending cuts will be good too, we will have a balanced budget on day 1. then maybe then sane people will regain control of the Senate and the WH. We need to raise the SS ret. age to at least 70, anyone that wants to retire sooner can do it on their own.

House Speaker John Boehner announced Tuesday he will be bringing a fiscal cliff "plan B" to the House floor this week for a vote. Boehner says his new plan will protect as many taxpayers as possible and is a tax-only measure. More from National Journal.

Two congressional sources said the vote would probably be held on Thursday.

The tax-only measure is being called "Plan B" by Republicans and they are looking at it as an alternative to a broader plan that the speaker has been negotiating with the White House.
