In response to:

A Real State of the Union

Where does DC think it gets any authority to regulate the temperature of the planet? They don't even have the authority to regulate the temperature over the United States. I want the lot of them dragged out of the Capitol in chains to face a penalty commensurate with willfully violating our HIGHEST law.

Actually, the EPA has the lawful authority to regulate pollution. Pollution is any emission that makes life worse for those who are on the receiving end of it. Given how things are going with CO2 in the atmosphere, excess emissions of CO2 can logically be seen as pollution. The courts have agreed.

As a matter of law, it's settled. And those who prate of highest laws and so on put themselves in the camp of the Dorners and the Guy Fawkes's.

Actually, the EPA is unlawful itself.
Shouldn't even be in existence.

Go fix the planet Doug.
Give us a shout when you are done.

knucklehead.

" Given how things are going with CO2 in the atmosphere, excess emissions of CO2 can logically be seen as pollution."

And therein lies the real problem - "I" will propose the existence of a problem being caused by a natural substance and then "I" will require regulations to 'correct' the problem that "I" proposed. Of course, the only constant in that scenario is that "I" get total control of it.

Go tell all that climate change BS to China, India, the African continent and other places that still have large third world populations. They will laugh you to scorn, if they don't outright kill you for interfering.

Oh, no, they won't. They will happy declare that this is caused by West colonizers and demand compensation (actually, already did; and on one of their orgies, a.k.a. climate change conferences, they and their advocates explicitly stated that this is all about wealth redistribution only.)

Thank you Fuzzy.

Doug, my life is just slightly worse after reading your post. It damaged my psyche. I deem your post pollution.
evie10 Wrote: Feb 13, 2013 3:47 PM
Oxygen is also a pollutant - who knew.
evie10 Wrote: Feb 13, 2013 3:48 PM
and they are exempt from any of the penalties being heaped on this country.

The EPA is the Minstry Of Cleanliness, completely eclipsing and trashing the tort-law that regulated the environment just fine for centuries.

Doug, you just argued "might makes right" when the OPPOSITE relation (right makes might) was proven correct over 300 years ago. When you are so far out of date, people are going to notice.

"Pollution is any emission that makes life worse for those who are on the receiving end of it. "

Wrong. By that definition, you qualify.

"Pollution" = "resources in the wrong place."

Nice tautology; 'excess' defined...how?

High CO2 correlates to high biodiversity...which is good, right? Or did you miss that class at ecopagan school?

Hey evie10!

Doug has no interest in actually LEARNING the chemistry and biology necessary to reaching trustworthy conclusions.

Thank you in advance for not talking about the geologic record, either.

"The courts have agreed" and "the science is settled" is code for"we just made this shiite up and it fulfills our need to seem smarter than others".
Laputans are everywhere,
We've heard another State of the Union speech, and my president said grand things like:

"Think about ... a future where we're in control of our own energy ... I will not cede the wind or solar or battery industry to China ... I will not back down from protecting our kids from mercury poisoning ..."

Actually, he said that in 2012. I write before this year's speech, but he says basically the same thing every year: With more spending, government can fix everything.

But I have this dream -- one where my president walks to the podium, and he instead...
