Those are lies. "Progressives" opposed the Civil Rights movement, Conservatives and Republicans promoted and won it. Democrats turned the fire hoses on the blacks. Christianity has never "proselytized" children without the parents awareness, and "progressives" have had no impact on such an issue one way or another. Women have no worse medical care than they have ever had, and no better than another person. The monster lie of who should pay for contraceptives is, and always was, a strawman. Items #2 and #4 were on nobody's radar in 1945, or 1955, or 1965... In the meantime, the things progressives have ruined fill shelves of books.

The political slogan "Forward" served Barack Obama well during this year's election campaign. It said that he was for going forward, while Republicans were for "going back to the failed policies that got us into this mess in the first place."

It was great political rhetoric and great political theater. Moreover, the Republicans did virtually nothing to challenge its shaky assumptions with a few hard facts that could have made those assumptions collapse like a house of cards.
