I remember, watching the US election from over here, reading both black and white opponents of Obama predict on Townhall.com that people who opposed him would be labelled as racists. It's sad to see the labelling come from a former President, implying as it does that Obama is there for no other reason than the colour of his skin.

Again I have to say that there are areas in which the NHS is verry good, sometimes even excellent. But when your politicians look across the pond with envy, they forget that it took us over SIXTY YEARS to get the good bits good. There is no template you could lift to build the NHS as it is in the US, because a common language does not guarantee cultural convergence. It would be a matter of necessarily reinventing the wheel.
