Legitimate Rape Arguments

Last time I looked gays have all the same rights as the rest of us...and even many cases of special treatment. A gay man has just as much right to marry as a straight man....they just both have to marry a woman. A straight male is equally prohibited from marrying another man. It's equally applied to both...so that's not discrimination. You're arguing for yet ANOTHER special exception for gays (same sex marriage.)

I don't disagree with your premise, but using a rapist in an argument for the death penalty is fatally flawed in that there is no that I am aware of that allows the death penalty for rape. It is reserved for first degree (premeditated) murder, under the sound moral principle that once someone has made the willful decision to deprive another of life they forgo their right to live. It doesn't apply to unintended or accidental murder (i.e. manslaughter). Applying it in the context of rape (while on its face a compelling contrast in positions), is ultimately self-defeating for this reason.

Live Free -- And Uninsured

Insurance for pre-existing conditions is not insurance. It's welfare. We need to call a spade a spade. If you could buy "insurance" for your burning house, THAT would be welfare, too. You're not "insuring" against a potential loss...you're paying a token amount for a bailout by someone else.

Congratulations! You've figured out the economics of Obamacare! And that's precisely what many will do. It's what they've done under Romneycare in Mass., as well. Since you can't be denied insurance when you decide you need it, why not?! But $2K a year is cheap...you must be young and healthy! My family policy was $9,600 / year and we NEVER go to the doctor, not meds in the household and no chronic illnesses. Even if the penalty is was $2K/year, I'd gladly pay it and pick up insurance when something bad happened. Think if we had that option with our cars....pay a $200/year penalty for no insurance, then when you have an accident buy a policy to fix your totaled car and pay the $1M claim of the other injured party. What a deal!!

Why Obama Will Lose in a Landslide

Those asians voted for him last time. So did all the "goody-getters". He outspent McCain, an aged, lackluster candidate at best, but 4:1....and then eeked out a 4 point win. Take all the losses in supported listed above and I concur in the result. I think 2010 will look like nothing more than a good warm-up for the beat-down the DNC is going to take this November. I think we'll be close to 60 seats in the Senate while adding in the House and taking the White House. The big question is what the Republicans will do with it. Hopefully not another TSA or Medicare Part D fiasco.

November is looking ugly for the Obamster. I've lost count of the number of "hope and change" types who voted for him last time who've said there is no way they could vote for him again. He outspent McCain 4:1 and eeked out a 4 point win. The funding imbalance is being corrected this time around. Couple that with massive defections from both his base and the independents, and I think things look pretty grim for him....which is good for America.

Maybe O will just send his teleprompter to give his acceptance speech and avoid the whole fiasco.

Improving Health Care

If we had TRUE healthcare reform (including desperately needed tort reform) AND if we had some free market discipline in healthcare, BOTH those surgeries would have cost a fraction of that and YOU would have been able to afford it. Gov't and the American Trial Lawyers of America have created our current bloated, expensive healthcare mess.
