The ONLY reason bubba had a balanced budget is that he was FORCED into doing it by a republican congress. Bush had a small deficit of a couple of hundred billion which ballooned to 6 or 700 billion dollars after the demos took over the last two years and with nobama and the libs in charge of BOTH houses it has grown to a trillion with no end in sight. The House could do something but the senate passes NO budget and therefore either shut down the government (good solution) or have continuing resolutions. Bottomsup is really stupid not to comprehend what happened and who is responsible. The wars are outside the budget.

The nearly universal response -- meaning the response offered by the liberal media and liberal academics (and some Republicans) -- is that the Republican Party needs to rethink its positions, moving away from conservatism and toward the political center.
