Thanks, FDA: A Trip to the Grocery Store May Soon Cost More

Many of the comments here are extremely valid, and it is true that more Government Regulation always increases cost. That said do not overlook the fact that everything that Obama has done has made the cost of living higher and the standard of living lower. His failure to authorise the Pipeline from Canada, the EPA Regulations that are closing older power plants and preventing the opening of new ones, his failure to increase Nuclear Power Plants, his economic policies which are reducing the value of the dollar and so, because it is traded in dollars, forcing up the cost of foreign oil, his opposition to fracking, and his subsidising so called Green Energy, which does not work are all contributing.

That said, and I have commented on this here before but you still gave him a second term, the Left either do not realise or refuse to acknowledge that just about everything we use, or produce, or transport depends on hydrocarbons. Plastic Milk Containers, fertilisers and feeding stuffs used by farmers to produce our food, fuel to fuel their tractors and trucks, fuel for truckers delivering to the store, synthetic fabrics used in our clothing, the cost of electricity to light, heat and a/c our stores, factories and homes. Not to mention that it now costs you more to travel to the store to shop than it did four years ago, that median family income has fallen by $3,000 in four years, that he has just increased taxation on EVERYONE.

Further he has stated his intention to do so again, as well as the fact that the Tax increases to fund Obmacare have yet to kick in. As bad as all of this is it is going to get exponentially worse and he has four more years to destroy the American economy and way of life.

I know quite a few vegetarians that wear leather shoes and carry leather purses.

First that has nothing to do with the subject.

Second even vegetables are grown on farms and therefore their price is affected/

Third it is VEGANS not vegetarians that eschew leather goods.

Fourth do get with the program what is the point of your comment.

Thanks to the FDA’s menu labeling provision in ObamaCare, which targets restaurant chains and grocery stores, consumers may soon have to pay a little more at the checkout counter.

The proposed regulation would require store owners to label prepared, unpackaged foods found in salad bars and food bars, soups and bakery items. Erik Lieberman, regulatory counsel at the Food Marketing Institute, said testing foods for nutritional data will require either expensive software or even more costly off-site laboratory assessments.

Lieberman said failure to get it right comes with...
