Kids are fat, what's the solution?

Less video games and TV, and more exercise? How about making kids walk a couple miles after lunch even if it means keeping them in school an extra hour? I would only take minimal supervision so most teachers would be free from planning and grading that they have to do anyway.

kids are fat because they are so busy watching TV and playing electronic games instead of going outside. We ate worse foods cooked in lard and we were all thin. The government has NO business telling you what to eat. By your standards then kids are dumb and not graduating I guess the govenment should do something about that too.

The government *does* have business deciding what is on the lunch menu of a public school.

Take away their technology and make them go outside, or play organized sports.

Over %80 of those who are fat are on public assistance. they family does not work, they have no inspiration to work...

What else is there to do when you have noting to do but govment pays you money to eat...

The solution is parents making their own decisions on how to raise and feed their children. Government mandate and food Nazis is not the solution. Educate the parents and let them make the decision. MY FAMILY AND WHAT WE EAT AND WHAT WE DO IS NOT THE OBAMA'S F**ING BUSINESS.

Yes! And said with authority - a hand slamming down on the kitchen table to make the point.

It's not your problem, nor the federal government's problem.

Government is fat, too. What's the solution?
Ress Wrote: Sep 25, 2012 12:52 PM
Good point. Does the government own the people or do the people own the government? The fundamental question of our time.

If you're a liberal/socialist, the answer is simple.
In Wisconsin, high school athletes are complaining about not getting enough to eat each day, due to the skimpy new school lunch menu mandated by the United States Department of Agriculture and First Lady Michelle Obama.

The story we published earlier this week on that subject is unfortunately not unique. Students across the country are complaining about the new school lunch regulations.

Perhaps the real motive is to starve students into slimming down. Just ask students in Pierre, South Dakota who, too, are in an all-out revolt.
