Wayne, you may well be correct, and I do understand your reasoning. I am 74 and I well remember the Reagan/Carter election, but I would urge you and all Libertarians to think deep and long about your decision to not vote for Romney. America can perhaps even begin to dig itself out of the deep pit we are in under a Romney Presidency, but we will be too far gone to ever recover from four more years of Obama's Marxist policies. Also, I believe that Rubio was born in Cuba, and thus cannot become President. I see Allen West as a strong, surprise choice.

These are desperate times, and yes, young blood is desperately needed. As to Romney being "our" candidate, he is not Ronnie, but he is at least 1000 times better than BHO, and he would have to work with a growing conservative Congress. We must not allow Obama to have four more years! America would be way too far gone by then. That overrides all other considerations.

Anyone that watched last nights debate has to be encouraged. They are all hundreds of times better than the socialist/fascist we have now. Well okay, Paul is a bit off of the reservation, but almost the entire Dem Party is even further off. These debates will forge a tough, strong candidate, and if it does turn out to be Romney, he will have to work with a mainly conservative Congress. He and they will govern in a conservative manner or there will be no Republican Party left by 2016. Most people and their governments need to be able to blame something or someone for their own failings and fears, and because the Jews are somewhat different and fairly numerous, they are an easy target. It has been that way throughout recorded history. The Baptists, except for perhaps Southern ones, are not so easy to single out and persecute. At its core, it really is no more complicated than this. I am a conservative because I believe in the wording of our great Constitution, and have studied the actual intent of our Founders. Their core purpose was to protect "The People" from the tyranny of a strong central government. Thus the Federalists system, a nation with strong states rights, was established. They did their part, they gave us our individual liberties, but we are doing a very poor job of keeping them. The only reason at all to be in Afghanistan is because Pakistan has nuclear weapons. We fear that a total take over by the Taliban, etc. in Afghanistan will open the door into Pakistan even wider than it is now. Will our efforts fail? Very likely so because these are Muslims we are dealing with and we are the "great satan" invaders to their entire world. We will most likely see Iraq revert back to its wild and wooly ways too, and we had a much better chance there than in Afghanistan. We need to come home and defend America, and save our economy. Olive, please remind yourself that Clinton tried to pass health care "reform" too, but the Repub Congress along with some sensible Dems (yes there were a few back then) stopped him. They also forced him, after sending the bill to his desk three times, to sign welfare reform. How very true those words are, and Obama and the other slovenly Dems are putting the final touches on our decline. Bush and the Repubs did not do much better, and Bush's terrible decisions paved the way for Obama's election.
