"[Obama] actually said the VAT is “something that has worked for other countries.” You have to include Obama's definition of "work." Everything "works," according to a particular standard. In Obama's case, that appears to mean that the VAT has fostered citizen dependency and governmental elephantiasis. I don't think that's what Americans want.

You sure about that? The results of the election say this is exactly what the majority of
American's want. Example: Californian's voted themselves a tax increase! And they voted to keep the same people who put us in this mess in the first place PLUS added more of them to office. Republicans now are less than 30% of the population of this state that was once the 7th largest economy in the world.

Obama has staked out a very dogmatic and inflexible position on class-warfare tax hikes and he obviously wants all of us to think only the “rich” will be impacted.

I think it’s foolish to penalize investors, entrepreneurs, small business owners and other upper-income taxpayers. What nation, after all, has ever prospered by placing obstacles in front of those who create jobs? France? Don’t make me laugh.

But I’m also amazed that anyone believes Obama isn’t going to screw the middle class as well. The simple reality is that there aren’t enough rich people to finance big government.
