According to the White House Blog: "There is much more work that remains to be done to repair the damage caused by the financial crisis and deep recession that began at the end of 2007." Is that when the Dems took over the House?
Good read Michelle. We all need to learn that whenever the MSM embraces a republican, that Republican should be voted out. How about working on the rest of the RINOs?

Private sector unions ignore economics at their own peril. Companies dissolve, move, close, etc. and union folks lose their jobs. Public sector unions ignore economics at everyone's peril. Politicians that pander to unions must be voted out.

There are a lot of terribly confused folks commenting here. Abortion is wrong. What is it that confuses so many of you?

Nicely written Ben and really captures the essence of this horrible organization. There are many reasons to defeat President Obama but his views on abortion ought to be enough for anyone with a sense of humanity.

I wish mine was "skimpy". I have a 25 yr private sector pension that is just under 19% of my final salary. What so many public employees seem to ignore is that unions blackmail the politicians and ignore economics. The same behavior in the private sector kills the business. Take an honest look at the country's unfunded liability. I'm not blaming anyone other than the politicians who are only interested in getting re-elected.
Find it frustrating that more people aren't backing the Fair Tax Bill as it addresses most of what is wrong with the economy. I realize it will cause disruption but think it would be very good for the long term. I've been sending the following to media outlets for a while now and wonder why the idea hasn't caught on more than it has. "Those of us who understand Economics realize that only people pay taxes. Business's pass them on in the price of their products or take them out of employees in the form of lower wages, fewer employees and reduced benefits. That fact is irrefutable." What do you think Larry?
Those of us who understand Economics realize that only people pay taxes. Business's pass them on in the price of their products or take them out of employees in the form of lower wages, fewer employees and reduced benefits. That fact is irrefutable. We would be well served if corporate income tax was abolished. You and other pundits and politicians could do the country a great service if you could drum up interest in the "Fair Tax Bill". Why can't you see this opportunity?
Here is an idea to cut the cost of health care and thus have more for the young. According to 2004 data from CMS the Per Capita (dollars) spending for health care by Age Group (numbers are approximate): Age 55-64 $7787/person times 35,395,000 persons ($276 Billions Savings) Age 65-74 $10778/person times 20,956,000 persons ($226 Billions Savings) Age 75-84 $16389/person times 12,964,000 persons ($212 Billions Savings) Age 85+ $25691/person times 4,693,000 persons ($121 Billions Savings) I guess that the place to start withholding health care would be for those over 85 (save $25,691 per person). If that isn't enough then the next group (75-84) could be targeted (save $16,389 per person). If that isn't enough then the next group...
