Wouldn't American children be better off under Sharia laws?

I am reasonably certain that you are being ironic. On the other hand, your irony does contain an important point.
Over time, I have often been struck by two of the standard criticisms of Sharia: that thieves lose a hand and that adulterers are stoned to death. The implication seems to be that our system is superior to Sharia because we are more complaisant about larceny and adultery. If those are the only, or the major, or even just the representative reasons that we can come up with to think that we have a better thing going than the Muzzies, then we have truly lost it.

Look at Dearborn, where Christians who do not hide their faith or deny it in public are "stoned" with random objects by Muslim mobs. And under Shariah, the infidel MUST be treated this way, even allowing small children to scream obscenities to demean Christians.

This "anyone who isn't Muslim is worse than second class" treatment is a taste of Shariah if fully implemented. I agree that once we threw out common law, we were left with the extremes of Shariah on one hand and anything-goes Hedonism on the other. Neither of which is healthy.

The word "jihad" appears 40 times in the Koran. In every context, it means waging war with the infidel.

In July, 2009, Newsweek ran a feature article on “relationships with multiple, mutually consenting partners,” entitled, “Polyamory: The Next Sexual Revolution.” Last week, Showtime launched a reality TV show called “Polyamory: Married and Dating.” To quote from Newsweek’s 2009 article, it’s “enough to make any monogamist’s head spin.” And all this, of course, is being touted as a great thing, a celebration of love and freedom, a deliverance from the monotony and constraints of monogamy.

The Showtime promo pulls no punches and makes no excuses:

Narrator: The polyamorous lifestyle may shock some. But with American divorce...
