A Book for Republicans

"Fairness" means that people will vote for a person, and agree to live in slavery if ALL persons are living in slavery as well. "Fairness" slaves have never read, and wouldn't understand the book Animal Farm even though the results in that book can be seen by those very people that they are voting for. What a sad state if affairs!

Where are our "Andrew Mellon"s now? We need people to question socialism and not apologize for Capitalism. The statistics bear out just how much more affluent even our poor are compared to the rest of the world and no one is asking how or why that is...

Assessing a situation with the knowledge or history you have is part of human survival instinct. "profiling' is a part of that. Sometimes we error, sometimes we survive but intelligent people error on the side of caution when it comes to saving their hide. It really doesn't matter who you are, what color, race, religion, creed or gender you are, you profile and if you say you don't, you lie. If you actually believe that you don't, you are lying to yourself.

17 is a rough age. The kid was making poor choices for himself and now thanks to the 'race hustlers' and grieving parents his choices are coming to light.... When someone is killed, the investigation should be intense and complete regardless of who is involved and I hope that this is the case here. We have been lied to, we have been 'media-fied' and we have seen just how easily it is to rile mobs to the point of lynching. It's sadly odd that those that purport to live for justice are the very persons that forget the dangers. Wish all kids who make poor decisions for themselves have the opportunity to mature. Sadly, we as parents all have felt the gut pain of fear and dread.

Seems to me that wearing a flashy suit and a fedora was meant to bring attention to yourself where a hoodie and low riding is meant to bring anonymity. Seems like much of what young people wear today is meant to disguise oneself for whatever reason. When these loose fitting, cookie cutter clothes are worn, you can't tell the age, size, shape, color or gender of the wearer.

Dr. Sowell calls Sharpton and others race hustlers. That's a great and accurate term.

Learning how to dress seems to be an art lost in many areas. In ancient times, (when I was in school) it was understood that the classroom was your job and that you were to dress accordingly. Teachers dressed as an example, have you seen how they dress now? Would it be allowed in a successful business practice? I've conducted many job interviews and it amazes me how people present themselves young or old. You would think that it would be understood that you would present yourself in the best light if you wanted a job. But then it might be that one only needs to appear to be looking for a job in order to achieve the objective. Parents are the first and best teacher, but societal influence isn't helping.

Mr. Sowell points out a similar situation when he was in Harvard and how he handled it. Whether it's 'fair' or not, how you appear matters and anyone that says that they don't make determinations on appearances is lying to themselves. But, I have been wondering about the subject that Mr. Sowell made with regards to 'minorities' wearing hoodies and I beg to differ. A hoodie, in many cases and from a distance allows the person wearing it to be anonymous. If you see someone wearing a hoodie, with his/her pants riding low, it isn't readily apparent whether that person is a minority or not. White kids wear this 'uniform' too. The outfit does nothing to generate a secure feeling in anyone seeing it from anyone wearing it.

The Power of American Exceptionalism

Americans, WeThePeople, are a generous people and quite capable of taking care of our own without government intervention. As Patriotic Vet wrote, there are outreaches available to help him if family and friends can't or won't. The idea that the government is the one and only answer for those in need is weak. The government is the least able agency when it comes to caring.
