I totally agree with the previous post.. Allen West is does not get as much exposure even here in florida as do other candidates. He would split the minority vote, has real conservative values, help win Florida and bring back pride in our government. Marco Rubio is Mel Martinez lite and I do not support any pro amnesty candidates. To select Rubio is just pandering to Latinos. The majority of Latinos in Florida are Cuban Republicans. The second largest group are Puerto ricans and almoist all of them are liberal Dems. Allen West is the best choixce and I would support him for President. And the fact that he is black will just confuse the racists on the liberal side.

No. They would do to him what they've done to any minority conservative. They'd call him an uncle tom, an oreo. They'd trot out every controversial thing he's said (no matter how true it is) and paint him as an extremist (like Palin). Black voters would simply have cover this time to vote democrat like they always do.
He would be a detriment to the ticket. But he's very valuable in congress.

Rubio won the vice presidential straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Rosemont, Illinois, Friday evening.

The first-term Republican senator won with 30% of the vote. Trailing him were New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 14%, House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan at 9%, Kentucky Sen.
