Mr. Prager, You are Wrong on Marijuana

As a lifelong conservative, one area where I would possibly be considered liberal is drugs. Its not that I use drugs or condone their use,its just that I am against prohibition of anything.Lets face facts, prohibition of anything has never worked. It has only given rise to organized crime, filled our prison system with non-violent offenders(not to mention possibly destroying any chance of a productive life),wasted billions of tax dollars, and created a healthy police state. It is not governments job to regulate what or how much of a substance you ingest.Drugs have been around since the earth was formed, and human beings have been using them for that long, but they have only been illegal for a little over 100 years.Legalize, tax and pay our debt!!!!

In his column of March 12, 2013, my beloved friend wrote on the issue of legalized marijuana in the state of Colorado. On his radio show, he justifiably bemoaned readers of his column who had written comments questioning his sanity and their relationship over this one issue despite years of being Prager groupies. I will not do any of that. But for only the second time in our long relationship, Mr. Prager, you are dead wrong on a topic … but I still love you.
