If the preliminary vote was to strike it down, this won't change it. It make turn another Justice against it.
"Most Evangelicals are nice people and good neighbors . . ." That's all that needs to be said, but after hearing that pattern followed up with "but Romney . . ." repeatedly one one begins to feel that there's more than just a hint of something not being said. It's bad form to make it his religion, so you look for something else you can use to discredit him. Mitt Romney is not a liberal, or a progressive in the senses used by the left. He's focused on our national fiscal mess. If he were only interested in a political career, don't you think he's smart enough to begin somewhere other than Massachusetts? This isn't a test of him. It's a test of your honesty with yourselves. Can you honestly say that Newt is really a proven leader?
Gingrich took this line in a debate and then apologized to Mitt and the GOP. Apparently his superpac didn't get that message. I think this will hurt his polls. If these people think that their jobs would still be there but for Mitt Romney, they don't understand how America works. Businesses have to be profitable or they die. None of these people is persuasive as the kind of employee I'd want to keep, if I ran the company. Personally, I hope that Mitt arranges for some layoffs in the federal bureaucracy, especially in agencies who suck up tax money and produce nothing.
I thought this had to be a Democratic superpac ad. By attacking capitalism Gingrich's superpac has adopted a scorched earth policy. I don't think this ad will help Gingrich but they may be able to sell it to the Obama campaign. Do these people really believe that businesses exist just to provide jobs and benefits for them? That's not conservatism, it's a socialist viewpoint. Will this PAC turn on Gingrich for accepting huge "consulting" fees from Freddie.
You're kidding, right? Newt's path of leadership is like the path of a drunk who's forgotten where he was headed when he started.
Rush Limbaugh is a RINO. A real Republican would want the best candidate to beat Obama and that is Romney. A real Republican wouldn't be trying to divide Republicans against each other. A real Republican would know his facts better instead of the propaganda trying to make it look like Romney is a liberal. As a governor of a state like Massachusetts, a conservative has to choose his fights and the most he can do is stand against the tide. Mitt did that. He applied a conservative approach whenever possible, but he had a veto proof legislature. All the naysayers will be shown to be fools when he gets elected.

Boehner himself acknowledges that this deal doesn't cut enough. The only real reform will happen if the tea party movement continues to demand accountability. We can expect to hear all sorts of tales of woe, but those should be recognized as the result of overpromising in the past.

For anybody in Washington to start lecturing us about irresponsibility, especially after the first two years of Obama's administration, is the height of hypocrisy. Caddell was fulminating at the tea party and the conservative freshmen in the House, and he was just out of line. We're all caught up in a vast Ponzi scheme that makes Bernie Madoff's pale in insignificance. The only difference is that the Federal Pyramid supporters think that all they need is to keep raising taxes and debt limits, but the end result is the same, eventually there isn't enough money coming in to sustain the outlays. The sooner we acknowledge that and work to reform entitlement programs the less the shock will be. But eventually a reckoning is coming.

Thanks to Mr. Bialosky for reminding us that Mitt Romney is not the enemy. He has been subjected to constant criticisms that have nothing to do with his ability and intent as president. Remember that you win national elections by appealing to the swing voters. I think that the GOP has a pretty good field of candidates and that Romney has very good credentials. Whoever emerges as the nominee deserve support from all of us.
Oh, yeah. There IS no chivalry in fundamentalist radical Islam. Some of them don't even believe women have souls.
