The GOP and Round Two

I believe that there are statesmen in both political parties, politicians who really are trying to do what is best for the country. "how can you possibly believe that obama recognizes anything but spending more, taxing more and taking this country into oblivian." How can you beleve in such a RightWing-TalkRadio-Boogeyman caricature? "The Republican and Democrat politicians don't care at all about the people -- only reelection. " Then Obama, a democrat president at the start of his last term, is the Nation's best chance to push through real entitlement reform. Boehner/TeaPartier/Norquist-Zombie GOP'ers have squandered two precious months arguing over trifles compared to what needs doing.

President Obama won the first round of his second term, but thanks to Mitch McConnell the beating wasn’t as severe as it could have been.

The period between the election and the turn of the calendar was dominated by the president, with Speaker John Boehner as his foil. The Speaker always seemed to assume the president was negotiating in good faith, even as the campaign events continued, and even as he was pummeled day and night by the president and his surrogates in the MSM.

The collapse of the Speaker's and the GOP’s ability to make an argument was complete...
