AFAIK Obama used to say that he supported Civil Unions but not Marriage, and then (prodded by Biden) he came around to publicly supporting Same-Sex Marriage. His present position needs alot of clarification and fleshing-out. Beyond that, I don't know what you are talking about. I wonder if either one of us knows what you are talking about. Last Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed for the first time to take on the issue of gay marriage. No matter how it rules in the two cases it will hear next spring, polling data suggest it is only a matter of time before legal recognition of same-sex unions is the norm throughout the country.
