The New Rules for Radicals

You're so right. Conservatism used to mean decency, honor, standing for tried and proven principle. Standing on principle is good, not listening or poo-pooing dissention "just because" is wrong. For instance... I strongly oppose abortion as a means of birth control or to cover a misstep, but to force a woman (or young girl) to carry a pregnacy to term in cases of violent rape, for instance, may not be the best for that woman. I believe homosexualty is wrong, an aberrant lifestyle... but the bottom line is: so are all forms of promiscuity or licentiousness. Must the federal government outlaw sex out wedlock as a crime? It would not work.. but, we as a people can protect traditional marriage as the crux of humanity and the family?

Why Liberalism Doesn't Work

FlaCracker Wrote: Dec 11, 2012 12:52 PM
Liberalism DOES work! It slowly nibbles away at the the ability to free citizens to work and succeed on their own. It's like the Borg. Resistance is futile.... evidently. Even if it is a false 'theology', it still has worked very well. Do we really think things will start shifting 'right-of-center' any time soon? Wishful thinking only. As we the people get stupider and stupider, Liberalism gets stronger and stronger.

Romney Was Not the Problem

I am amazed as how stupid your statement was. I lived in Asia as a kid. At the American school, we stood for their national anthem when it was played... and we learned the words. But that did not make me Nationalist Chinese. We had days off to celebrate their traditional holidays. But that did not make me Budhist. It was the same here, until the progressive left and ACLU and other brain-dead organization started working their magic. So you want to talk about bigotry?

What? That's like saying, are you: Black, White, Asian, Mixed race, Hispanic, a believer, Evangelical, Catholic, Budhist, Muslim, Hindu, Baptist, or Mormon? Polish, French, Canadian, German, Russian, or Finnish decent? Small minds lost the election... Period! Free market and opportunity should expand. Government needs to get the boot off of our necks. However, if I were to protect my 14 daughter, who was brutally violated on the way to school, by terminating the pregancy... all of a sudden I am not 'conservative'. If I believe in morality, and I believe we are a constitutional nation under God, but one that does not think a person's religion should matter.... all of a sudden I am not a 'conservative'.

Romney Was Not the Problem

Romney was not the problem. He could have been the solution. The problem is our reprobate mores of pop-culture, narcisism, instant need for self-gratification and the constant assurancd of a good 'self-esteem' (deserved or not) . And let's not forget our 'collective' need to stimulate our copulation urges and 'life-style' choices. And on these things, we move FORWARD. America has been so great, only to loose herself to real and actual stupidity. Conservatives breeds stupid very well. An electorate bent on infinitely varied, single-issuedness at all costs. And the Left knows how to use it.
Bobby Jindal just said his first ridiculous thing in his new campaign for notoriety. Romney's only disadvantage is that he was a decent man. Romney was the one demonized, first, by his own party.... and much of the sentiment stuck among the fringe, do-gooder faction of 'conservatives'.... then the Left.... which would be expected. Jindal, you're just adding to divisiveness.
The family is the root and cradle of civilization. Our culture has adulterated the family. Rather than living the golden rule, people now feel victimized because they think others, not them, are not living the golden rule. Respect and deference has given way to narcissism and indulgence. Boundaries have always been crossed, but there was a time when most felt the sting for their indiscretions, but now, no ones seems to care. Self reliance and personal progress from learn experience was the key to one's self worth and success, now a standard of living is expected, even when not earned or deserved. We have feed the beast, now it is feeding on us.
He's got Zackley's disease.
Actually... it's the reverse.
