GOP Solution: Stick to Values, Pick Better Candidates

You are completely right. But wouldn't you think that as conservatives we could sneak in and buy another network or newspaper or something somewhere? I would have gladly seen Romney buy NBC or something. It amazes me that we don't bother to control more media. To me there is only one reason. Our republican leadership is not interested in conservative views or even getting some more control over what people see. That must means just one thing. They are also not conservative, are they? The answer is exactly that obvious. They only want it to look like a contest. They share the same goals, but they like for us to think of it as a contest.

Sadly, Conservatives seem to believe that making a pitch to people's emotions is beneath them. There's nothing wrong with approaching an idea from an emotional framework.

These are days of hindsight and second-guessing for Republicans, which is human nature after a trauma like this election loss.

There are million “why” theories out there, from the Hurricane Sandy effect to pernicious media bias. Wringing our hands over those factors gets us nowhere.

We can’t stop hurricanes, and media bias is always there. Reagan and Bush 43 won twice against waves of poisonous bias, so that is not an insurmountable obstacle.

What Republicans need is a slate of candidates that can energize the base while expanding the appeal of a conservative message.
