As long as the Feds keep giving Detroit the money they will never grow up and fix their own problems. Maybe they can hire Scott Walker for a city manager. Fed money (our money) is the drug and Detroit needs to be in rehab. We don't pay fed income tax to support cities. That is what property tax and sales taxes are for. If the Democrats in Detroit have such great ideas, make them work but don't come to Washington with you had out asking for money to keep your overpaid union jobs afloat.

As long as money is given to the people of Detroit for doing noting there will always be people in Detroit who will do nothing and will need to be given more money for doing nothing again next year.

With the City of Detroit heading toward bankruptcy, The Hill reports that Mayor Dave Bing has signed a $330,000 contract with a Washington lobbying firm to help the city grab more money from federal taxpayers. At the same time, Rep. Hansen Clarke (D-MI) wants up to a $1 billion in “emergency aid” (i.e., bailout) for Detroit from Uncle Sam.

I typed “federal funds Detroit” in a Google search and the following headlines popped up on the first page:
