Very instructive example! Guess what is taught in schools these days is that you can do anything you want, idiotic or not, and someone else will pay the bills to repair you.

I have an idea! Since the District of Columbia is not a state let's turn over its management to our elected "representatives".

That'll make everything all better, yes? After all, that's who has created the multitudinous problems.Take the estimated population in ten years, divide the current budget by that number and give that amount directly to the parents, to use as they see fit. Any shortages will be immediately deducted from the paycheck of our elected "representatives".
