Why not do that. She is part of the crowd where people are pretending to be someone else, pretending to tell a truthful factual story and pretending that this event of Hollywood honoring Hollywood is really important("I don't have a thing to wear so I'll spend lots of money on dresses and jewelry"), as if middle America was concerned about this "important" event, instead of worrying about what's next in their lives. Vanities of vanities.
